I graduated from Lausanne University with a degree in Sociology & Social Psychology. Initially, I worked as a researcher for several years, first in the field of economic history for Babson College in Massachusetts, then in the field of science policy for the Gebert Ruef Stiftung (a private foundation in Basel, Switzerland). During this time, I prepared an article on the homeless situation in San Francisco which was distributed throughout Switzerland. This early success encouraged me to become a reporter. I was certified in 2005 by the Centre Romand de Formation des Journalistes, the official Swiss School of Journalism. I was trained as a business writer at the financial newspaper Agefi in Switzerland (2004-2006), working throughout Europe as well as covering trade missions to China and North Africa. In 2006, I became a member of the International Federation of Journalists and the Swiss National Press Organisation (impressum). I returned to California in 2006, to work freelance and as a correspondent; recommending topics as well as accepting assignments from several publications, including daily newspapers, business magazines, and specialty/luxury magazines. In 2008, I branched into radio; working for Radio Swiss Romande (the French-language Swiss National Radio), World Radio Switzerland (the English-language Swiss National Radio) and Couleur 3 (a popular music station). My radio work has included live reporting of breaking news events, participation in panel discussions, and composition of radio segments on a variety of news and special interest topics. My work has been featured and referenced in numerous international publications and on several websites including Wiener Zeitung (Austria), HNA.de (Germany), Tageblatt (Luxemburg), Université Laval (Québec, Canada), Nachhaltigkeit.org (Switzerland), Tax Analysts.org (USA), among others. |
